Our Clients Contact us

Effective biofouling management starts at the design phase and matches a detailed understanding of the operating environment with an appropriate antifouling technology selection. The Centre for Marine Biofouling and Corrosion provides an independent and impartial route to biofouling control and antifouling technology selection, providing you with a competitive advantage.

Coating selection advice

Antifouling coating selection is critical, but finding independent and impartial performance data to inform your decision is challenging.

The correct coating and maintenance programme will increase your efficacy and reliability while decreasing your fuel costs and vessel downtime. The Centre works across the coating industry to independently advise our customers on the best coating technologies specifically for the way they operate based on real data.

Hull surveys & non-native species assessments

Understanding is the first step towards effective biofouling management.

With marine regulators looking towards tighter biofouling control, understanding how biofouling is impacting your vessel(s) is essential for effective biofouling prevention and management.

The Centre’s experts work with clients to undertake confidential in situ surveys of their vessels and to assess and report on possible impacts the fouling could have on their operation.

Niche area biofouling management

Working with you to ensure niche areas are protected from biofouling.

Niche area biofouling protection is becoming a pressing issue for vessel operators on many routes. Vessels are being turned away from ports because of biofouling in these areas.

The Centre works with its clients to protect these niche areas through innovative technologies and approaches to reduce the impact of fouling from the design stage. We advise on the most effective active and coating based antifouling methods targeted for specific biofouling challenges. Our experience and expertise can keep your vessel operational and compliant, even in the areas that can’t be seen.
